In terms of 5G, since 2019, the city has issued the "Several Measures to Take the Lead in Realizing Full Coverage of 5G Infrastructure and Promoting the High-quality Development of the 5G Industry" and related work plans to deploy and accelerate the work related to the construction of the 5G industry and infrastructure. At the end of 2019, more than 15,500 5G base stations were built in our city, accounting for 40% of the number of base stations in Guangdong Province, and 2,289 multi-functional smart poles were built, accounting for 70% of the province. Up to now, more than 28,000 5G base stations have been built, 2,450 multi-functional smart poles have been built, and the number of 5G mobile phone users in the city has exceeded 2.9 million, with a very rapid growth. It is expected that 45,000 5G base stations will be built by the end of August this year to achieve high-quality full coverage of 5G networks.
