The router is set to get auto-fetch or dial-up

The way your router is set up depends on your network environment and needs:

1. Automatic acquisition: If you are a novice user, or your network is a dynamic IP, then automatic acquisition of IP addresses may be a better option. Auto-acquisition saves you the hassle of manually entering your IP address, and in most cases, the router will automatically help you choose the right way to surf the Internet.

2. Dial-up: If you are using broadband dial-up, or if your network is a fixed IP, then you need to manually enter the IP address. When setting up your wireless router, you can choose the option of dial-up Internet access. However, it should be noted that if your network is a fixed IP, then when setting up the router, you need to have both a broadband account and a password.

However, if you already have a higher-level router, then the second-level router can set a static IP, and the primary DNS can be left blank or filled in the local DNS. In addition, if you use an optical fiber network, in most cases, you will choose the automatic acquisition method, but it should be noted that the gateway IP address of the router cannot be the same as the gateway IP address of the optical modem, otherwise there will be conflicts.
